PlayPlay alternative: an agency instead of a video editing tool
PlayPlay or a motion design agency? An online tool or a video produced for you: what sets them apart, what each does well, and how to choose.
PlayPlay is an online tool your teams use to make their own videos, from templates. RayMotion is a studio that produces them for you, from script to delivery, at a fixed price. The first suits short, frequent videos made in-house; the second, videos that carry an important message.
PlayPlay data checked on September 29, 2026 on its public pages; it may have changed since.
Two ways to make a video
PlayPlay is a video creation platform: your marketing or communications teams assemble their videos from templates, with helpers such as automatic subtitles or generated voice-over. The subscription lets you create as many videos as you like; your team does the work.
A studio like ours does the opposite: you give us the goal, and we write the script, draw, animate, produce the voice-over and sound, and deliver the video. You approve at every step, without spending time editing.
When PlayPlay is the right choice
- You publish often: short videos every week for social media or internal communication.
- Your team has the time to make them, and wants to learn the tool.
- Your videos look alike: the same formats, the same templates, across many topics.
- Speed matters more than custom work: reacting to news within the day.
When an agency is the right choice
- The message is still to be built: written, settled between several departments, made clear in a minute.
- The video carries stakes: the home page, a launch, a committee, a sensitive internal announcement.
- Several people must approve: legal, compliance, leadership. Our process includes a written approval of the script, then of the storyboard.
- You want custom animation, in your brand guidelines, that does not look like a template.
- Your team has no time to produce the video itself.
Both together
Many teams combine the two: a studio for the flagship videos, those presenting the offer or accompanying a launch, and a tool in-house for everyday content. The flagship video sets the message and the style; everyday videos adapt it.
What each approach costs
PlayPlay does not publish its prices: the Business plan goes through a demo, and a 7-day free trial lets you test the tool. On top of the subscription comes the time your teams spend producing videos.
With us, every video has a fixed price written before we start: €2,250 excl. VAT for a presentation video, €1,750 excl. VAT for an internal video, €3,250 excl. VAT for an e-learning module. The detail is on our pricing page and in our article on explainer video prices, which also compares tool, freelancer and studio.
