Motion design video pricing in 2026: our three fixed prices

Why agencies quote ranges, what really drives the price of a motion design video, and our three fixed-price formats, with everything they include.

By the RayMotion team

Search for "motion design video price" and you will mostly find ranges: from a few hundred euros to more than €15,000, sometimes a day rate. That is honest, but it does not tell you what you will pay. And a budget you only learn at the end is hard to get approved internally.

We did the opposite: three formats, three prices, written down before we start. Here is where the market's gaps come from, what our prices include, and the questions to ask when comparing two quotes.

Why prices range tenfold

"Motion design" covers very different things: a ten-second logo animation, a ninety-second explainer, a five-minute training module, a 3D film. Comparing their prices makes as much sense as comparing a bike and a car.

Above all, most quotes are based on time spent. The starting price is an estimate, and every unplanned round of changes adds to it. That is why the ranges are so wide: they describe the risk of overrun as much as the work itself.

What really drives the price

  • Final length. Every animated second has to be designed, drawn and edited. A two-minute video is not twice the price of a one-minute one, but it costs clearly more.
  • Style. Flat animated shapes are faster than detailed illustration, which is faster than 3D.
  • The script. Written by you or by the studio, approved before animation or not: this is often where the budget is decided.
  • Voice-over and languages. A professional voice, then one version per language.
  • Music and sound design. Licensed music for all your channels, and the sounds that give the picture its rhythm.
  • The number of rounds. The most underestimated item. A comment on a script takes ten minutes to fix; the same comment on finished animation costs days.
  • Versions. Vertical for social media, square, subtitles, lobby screens.
  • The approval chain. In a large group, legal, compliance or leadership review the video. Every approver who joins after the script adds a version.

Our three fixed prices

Each format has a price, a delivery time from order to delivery, and two rounds of revisions included. Prices exclude VAT.

Format Length Fixed price excl. VAT Delivery Revisions
Presentation video 60 to 90 s €2,250 28 days 2 rounds
E-learning module 3 to 5 min €3,250 35 days 2 rounds
Internal / HR video 1 to 2 min €1,750 21 days 2 rounds

The presentation video, €2,250 excl. VAT

To explain an offer, a product or a team in under two minutes to someone with no time: a prospect, a partner, a committee. It is our most requested format, the one we made for Abrège and NotionScheduler.

Included: script and storyboard approved in writing, 2D animation in your brand guidelines, French voice-over, music and sound design, two rounds of revisions, web and social media exports, subtitles for silent viewing.

The e-learning module, €3,250 excl. VAT

To train a team on a product, a process or a regulation, with a module people watch to the end. It runs three to five minutes.

Included: a scoping workshop with your subject-matter experts, an instructional script with one objective per sequence, a storyboard approved by the business before animation, animation, voice-over, music and sound design, two rounds of revisions, a video export for your LMS or intranet.

The internal video, €1,750 excl. VAT

To announce a change, explain a tool or carry the employer brand, with a sober message everyone receives at the same time. It runs one to two minutes.

Included: a short script approved by leadership and HR, storyboard and animation in your brand guidelines, voice-over, music and subtitles, two rounds of revisions, exports for the intranet, lobby screens and internal networks.

Add-ons, priced up front

Why we can promise a fixed price

A fixed price is not a bet. It holds because the process prevents overruns:

  • scoping sets the goal, the audience, the length and the schedule, in writing;
  • the script is approved in writing before any visual;
  • the storyboard shows every shot before animation, the last moment to change your mind at no cost;
  • animation only starts on approved content, and two rounds of feedback are included.

If the scope changes along the way, one more language or thirty more seconds, we write a new quote before moving on. No hours billed after the fact. Every step is detailed on our process page.

What these prices do not cover

A 3D film, live-action footage or a series of videos fall outside these three formats. We then send a tailored quote within 24 hours, on the same principle: a fixed price, written before we start.

Comparing two quotes: the questions to ask

Two quotes for the same amount may not cover the same thing. Before choosing, check:

  • The final length of the video, in seconds.
  • The script: is it written by the studio, and approved before animation?
  • Revisions: how many rounds, and at which stage?
  • Voice-over: included or not, and in which language?
  • Music: licensed for all your channels, advertising included?
  • Rights and source files: who owns them at the end?
  • Versions: vertical, subtitles, screen formats included or extra?
  • Delivery time: is it written down, and when does it start?

A quote that answers these eight questions clearly will hold no surprises. A quote that stays vague on two or three of them probably will.

In short

The price of a motion design video depends less on the animation itself than on what surrounds it: the script, the approvals, the rounds of changes. By settling them from the start, we can show a price and keep to it. To price your project, configure your video or book a thirty-minute call. Frequently asked questions

A fixed price per format, known before we start and listed on the pricing page. Options (extra language, per-channel cut, voice-over) are priced individually in the quote. No billable hours along the way: if the scope changes, we issue a new written quote before moving on.

Two rounds of feedback are included at the animation stage, on top of the written sign-offs on script and storyboard. Each round is consolidated by one person on your side, then handled on a numbered version. An extra round is possible, priced before it starts.

You own the usage rights to the delivered video, with no time or channel limit, from final payment. Source files (animation projects, illustrations, audio stems) are provided on request, together with the voice and music licences. You can update the video later without depending on us.
