Explaining a mechanism of action to prescribers in 90 seconds

A presentation video that makes a mechanism of action understandable without distorting it, localised in three languages for subsidiaries, delivered in 28 days.

Fictional case study, shown as an example of method.

Context

The medical affairs team of a pharmaceutical group needs to present a mechanism of action to prescribers at congresses and during visits. The existing diagram, inherited from the scientific publication, is accurate but unreadable outside a lab. Teams in three countries each redraw it their own way, with discrepancies that regulatory eventually blocks.

Corporate constraint

The message has to stay strictly faithful to the approved literature. No simplification may introduce a claim that is not sourced. The three subsidiaries have separate review circuits and different legal-notice requirements.

What we did

An 88-second script written with the medical team, where every sentence points to a reference. A storyboard that separates what is shown from what is said, so review applies to precise shots rather than a general impression. 2D animation in the group's brand guidelines, with on-screen text and voice-over kept separate from the start. The three language versions were produced from the same master, each subsidiary approving only its own notices.

Result

A presentation video approved by headquarters in 28 days, then localised in three languages without reworking the animation. The same film is now used at congresses, on tablets during visits and on the group's medical website, with one reference document for all three countries.
