Onboarding 400 medical reps on a new product in 35 days
A four-minute e-learning module to train a pharmaceutical sales force before a launch, cleared by medical and regulatory review in a single cycle.
Fictional case study, shown as an example of method.
Context
A pharmaceutical group is launching a product in a new therapeutic area. Four hundred medical reps must master the mechanism of action, the clinical data and the positioning before launch day. The existing training is a sixty-slide deck and a full day in a classroom the calendar no longer allows.
Corporate constraint
Every scientific claim has to be sourced and approved by medical, regulatory and legal. The previous internal project had stalled for six weeks in back-and-forth because comments arrived on a video that was already animated. The client wanted content that clears review in one cycle and stays editable if a data point changes.
What we did
A scoping workshop with the training lead and the medical team to decide what goes into the module: three messages, not twelve. An instructional script delivered with its sources, sequence by sequence, approved in writing before any drawing. A storyboard where every shot carries the reference of the study it illustrates. The animation kept figures and on-screen text separate so an update never means remaking the film. A knowledge-check quiz was added at the end to track results in the LMS.
Result
The module cleared review in a single cycle, with no changes requested on the animation. The four-minute e-learning module reached 92% completion across the four hundred reps in two weeks. Three months later, a clinical figure was updated in two days, without a full new review.
